Les amis de la montagne had initially planned three days of activities for the 26th edition of the Mount Royal Clean-up.  Several community groups met on Saturday, May 6th in the Piedmont sector of the mountain to pick up garbage and monitor previously planted trees. However, clean-up activities organized with primary and secondary school students scheduled for Friday, May 5th were unfortunately cancelled due to the bad weather. Despite this setback, the results of the 2017 edition of the Clean-up are positive.

The 2017 Mount Royal Clean-up in numbers:
  • Close to 400 participants were involved in waste collection and tree growth monitoring,
  • 93 bags of garbage and 33 bags of recyclables were collected,
  • 16 fires and 7 camps were dismantled,
  • The growth and health of some 1,600 trees and shrubs were monitored.

Les amis de la montagne wishes to convey its heartfelt gratitude to all the participants who didn’t let this year’s inclement weather stop them from answering their call for help. What better proof of Montrealers’ unflagging commitment to Mount Royal!
