Les amis de la montagne commends Mayor Valerie Plante for her choices in putting together the City of Montreal’s new Executive Committee. Considering the attachment of Montrealers for their mountain and the importance of its improvement and protection, we fully support the Mayor’s decision to keep Mount Royal under her direct watch.

As the City of Montreal’s preferred partner for the management of Mount Royal Park and sourcing of private donors to fund major improvement and environmental stewardship projects in the park, Les amis will endeavour to give Mayor Plante and her team its full support in achieving the goals set out in the Mount Royal Protection and Enhancement Plan.

Aiming for enlightened decision-making in support of the mountain and those who enjoy it, it is with enthusiasm and in the spirit of collaboration that Les amis de la montagne will continue to engage in dialogue and team work with members of the new administration, including Luc Ferrandez, head of Environment and Large Parks, Christine Gosselin, head of Culture and Heritage, Eric Alan Caldwell, head of Transportation and the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (the city’s public consultation office), as well as Nathalie Goulet, head of Public Security.
