Despite the gloomy weather, elegance and creativity shone brightly last June 14 at the Chapeau Mont Royal! benefit luncheon hosted by Les amis de la montagne. Some 500 guests wearing hats each more beautiful than the next gathered at the Mount Royal Chalet for an afternoon of fun, fashion and fine food in the name of the mountain.
Chapeau Mont Royal Fundraiser in Montréal

This year’s event raised $150,000 for educational programs on Mount Royal, proof that we can make a difference when we put our heads together!

Elegantly-clad guests enjoyed the photo booth, silent auction and exquisite meal prepared by Fairmount The Queen Elizabeth.

The rain didn’t dampen the event’s taste for fashion as shown by 50 models wearing creations by Canadian Hat. It should be noted that this 5th edition was chaired by Diane Lanctôt, president & owner of Lanctôt Ltd and owner of Canadian Hat/Harricana.

Each year, this signature event showcases the talents of several Montréal hat designers whose haute couture creations are worn by many guests. It’s also the perfect opportunity to wear one’s own creation!

Les amis de la montagne is grateful to the members of the Organizing Committee, co-chaired by Mary Bruns Creighton, Judith Kavanagh, Carole Labelle Molson, Kathryn Lund Drummond and Sandra McGill, MD FRCS(C), for their unwavering commitment.
