En ce jour anniversaire de la création du parc du Mont-Royal et dans le cadre du 375e anniversaire de la Ville de Montréal, M. Denis Coderre, maire de Montréal, et M. Peter A. Howlett, C.M., président des Amis de la montagne, ont eu le plaisir de décerner le Prix du Mont-Royal aux Religieuses Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph qui, depuis 150 ans, ont investi et fait vivre une propriété remarquable située sur le flanc est du mont Royal.

Les amis de la montagne announced the launch of We love the Mountain. Let’s support UNESCO status for Mount Royal, a citizen mobilization campaign that allows those who love the mountain and recognize its exceptional value to sign a letter of support at  www.montroyalUNESCO.ca. The purpose of this campaign is to support Mount Royal’s bid to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 20^th edition of the Tuques Bleues benefit event brought together close to 400 snowshoers and 75 runners on a snow-laden Mount Royal last Thursday evening, February 16. Presented by Manulife for an 8th consecutive year, and featured this year again as part of Montréal en lumière festivities, the event raised $145,000 in support of Les amis de la montagne’s environmental conservation programmes on Mount Royal.
